Battery BORT BA-21N
Description
Bort ReX Series BA-21 rechargeable battery with active BMS
The Active Battery Management System BMS (Battery Management System) is an electronic system that controls the operation of lithium-ion cells of the BA-21 battery, protects them from damage and helps to increase battery life. It acts as the "brain" of the battery, constantly monitoring its basic parameters and controlling its protective functions.
Why you should choose the Bort ReX BA-21 battery
- The active BMS and interface connectorensure compatibility with tools and chargers of the Makita 18V LXT platform at the hardware level. BMS interacts correctly with charge and temperature monitoring systems, which increases the reliability of the entire battery system.
- Comprehensive electronic protectioncontrols the current, voltage, and temperature of each cell, reducing the risk of overheating, overloading, deep discharge, and premature battery failure.
- Automatic cell balancingequalizes the voltage in the cells, preventing overcharging and deep discharge of individual cells. This does not increase the capacity, but prolongs the overall battery life and ensures stable operation.
- High-energy Li-Ion cells (ICR type)provide long-term operation without memory effect. The built-in indicator allows you to check the charge level at any time.
- Compatible with the Makita 18V LXT platform

Compatible with the Makita 18V LXT system
The Bort ReX Series BA-21 battery pack is equipped with an active BMS and a yellow interface connector compatible with the Makita 18V LXT battery system. Thanks to this, the battery interacts correctly not only with the instrument, but also with the chargers of the Makita 18V LXT system.
Constant monitoring of the condition
An active BMS continuously monitors battery parameters during operation, charging and storage. The system monitors the status of each group of cells and protects the battery from over-current, overheating, short circuit, overcharging and deep discharge.
Balancing the elements
Inside the battery, several groups of elements are connected in series. Over time, their voltage may begin to vary, which is why individual groups will charge and discharge faster than others. During charging, the controller automatically equalizes the voltage between the groups of elements, ensuring their more uniform operation. This reduces the unevenness of wear, does not allow individual elements to limit the capabilities of the entire battery, helps to maintain capacity and extends battery life.
Data exchange with instrument and charger
An active BMS transmits battery status information to a compatible instrument and charger. The charger receives the necessary data about the battery parameters and can take them into account when selecting the charging mode. This data exchange improves charging efficiency, helps reduce the load on the cells, and helps preserve battery life.
Safety and reliability
A full-fledged BMS is a key component of a lithium-ion battery. Comprehensive monitoring of voltage, temperature and current helps to avoid overheating, excessive load and damage to the elements.
ICR Li-Ion Elements
The battery uses lithium-cobalt cells (ICR), which are characterized by high specific energy consumption. Li-Ion technology has no memory effect, so the battery can be recharged at any time without compromising its performance.
Charge monitoring
The built-in indicator allows you to quickly determine the remaining battery charge level immediately before starting work.
