So why Bahco products have the logo "Hook and Fish"?

When göran Fredrik Göransson in 1862 and established its steel mill,the European steel industry was in a prolonged depression.The price of ordinary steel was very low, the prices for processed steel were much higher, which created an interest in its processing. In 1876 the existing plant was converted for production of rolled steel.

When, in 1886, began the manufacture of saws, and there was a question about the logo for a tool with exceptional properties and quality, the choice was obvious - the hook and the fish.

"Give me a saw with a small fish."

it was obvious that the quality of the steel from which made fishing hooks, perfectly suited for the production of saws and other cutting tools. The big advantage of the trademark Bahco was the lack of text and complex patterns — he was easily recognizable. In the 50-ies of XX century, loggers were asked in shops saw "fish". The same is happening today in developing countries with low levels of literacy.
