The INHARD PCBN line includes 139 standard sizes and designs for four ISO material groups: K (cast iron and high-hardness cast alloys), H (hardened steels), P (cast steel and Gadfield steel) and N (non-ferrous alloys). To cover both roughing on the casting crust and finishing turning with tight tolerances, the manufacturer divides the plates according to the design and grades of the alloy.
Monolithic plates HN800 and HN600: rough removal and impact loads
When processing large-size castings made of cast iron, high-strength casting alloys and Gadfield steel, the cutting edge is constantly working with variable allowance and impact. For such operations, Inhard produces solid (monolithic) plates made of cubic boron nitride of the HN800 and HN600 brands.
Since the plate is entirely sintered from KNB and does not have a soldered seam, it can withstand a large cutting depth and intermittent turning in harsh conditions, and also allows you to work at high speeds with continuous passage. The round shape without angular stress concentrators, as in the RNMN190700S07020 CBN HN800 or the thicker RNMN201000S05020 CBN HN800, makes it possible to repeatedly rotate the plate in the holder as the edge section wears out. Diamond—shaped versions with an angle of 80° are provided in the same brand for universal external turning and trimming of ends, for example CNMN120412S03025 CBN HN800 with a radius at the top of 1.2 mm, and for fixing with a screw through the central hole - the RCMX series.

HPN series uncoated solder plates: finishing and semi-finishing
When the allowance is small and the main task is to withstand the geometry of a hardened part or a cast—iron body without the extra cost of a one-piece KNB, carbide plates with soldered inserts are used. The base brand in this group is HPN2001 (40 items), supplemented by modifications HPN6003 and HPN6005.
The number of working vertices with inserts from the KNB is encrypted at the end of the designation and is selected according to the serial number of the part. Double-vertex diamond-shaped plates with an angle of 55°, such as DNGA110408S01020—2N CBN HPN2001 (index 2N - two cutting tips), are suitable for profile turning and boring of stepped shafts. If the transition geometry allows you to work with a diamond of 80° or a triangle of 60°, switching to a four-vertex CNGA120408S01020-4N CBN HPN2001 or a six-vertex TNGA160408S01020-6N CBN HPN2001 reduces tool consumption per cutting edge. For boring small holes where the negative plate creates too much radial force, single-vertex positive plates with a back angle of 11° are available (for example, TPGW090204S01020-1N CBN HPN2001).

C06 and C05 coated solder plates: a resource at high speeds and shallow finishing passes
During the final boring of engine cylinder blocks, gearbox parts and hardened bearing rings, the resistance of the tip to hole formation and overheating is critical. For such modes, the Inhard catalog identifies a group of solder plates with a special reinforcing coating (indexes C06 and C05): grades HPN6005C06, HPN6002C06, HPN6006SC06, HPN2001C06 and HSN650C06.
The coating reduces friction and dissipates heat into the chips, which helps to keep the surface roughness stable during finishing. For different tasks within this series, you can choose the geometry and radius at the top from 0.2 to 1.2 mm:
- Positive diamond—shaped plates with a rear angle of 7° - for example, CCGW060204S01020-2N CBN HPN6002C06 and DCGW11T302S01030—2N CBN HPN6005C06 - cut softer than negative ones and are usually used for internal boring of thin-walled parts, where vibrations and squeezing must be avoided.
- Narrow diamond-shaped plates with an angle of 35° (VBGW160404S01020-2N CBN HPN6005C06 with a back angle of 5°) pass into deep undercuts and pockets during copying.
- Double-sided negative plates of shapes C and D (CNGA120404S01735-2N CBN HPN6005C06, DNGA150608S01020-2N CBN HPN6002C06) are designed for rigid machines and serial external or internal turning of hardened steels of group H.

About the manufacturer
Inhard LLC has been operating since 2019 and is based in Moscow (warehouse and office on Smolnaya St.). In addition to replaceable plates made of cubic boron nitride, the company produces and supplies carbide cutters, drills and taps made of high-speed powder steels HSS-E PM, boring mini-cutters, carbide rods with diameters from 2 to 41 mm (solid and with coolant channels), as well as rolled high-speed and die steels. The company's staff technologists help to select the alloy grade, plate geometry and tooling according to the drawings of the part and the passport characteristics of the machine.
