Description
Three-phase plasma cutting source with integrated compressor and MMA welding capability.
The owner of the Spectrum 105 COMPRESSOR can choose a source of compressed air for cutting: a coaxial compressor built into the housing, or an external air source. When operating from a standard compressor, the device can handle cutting steel up to 40mm, and when connecting an external high-performance compressed air source up to 50mm. This feature sets the device apart from competitors and corresponds to much higher cutting current ratings of third-party sources.
The device is equipped with a system of stepwise increase of the cutting current. The processor incrementally increases the current from a small value of maintaining the pilot arc to the operating level set by the welder. As a result, the starting process becomes more stable, which is especially useful for thin and mesh materials. The load on the consumable parts of the plasma torch is also reduced, and their service life is extended.
The inverter can be retrofitted for industrial use: a power cable up to 80 m (subject to the correct selection of the core cross-section) and a plasma torch up to 20 m.
The device is equipped with a special Leaf mode/Mesh, for working with metal of different textures. In the "Sheet" mode, when the burner reaches the edge of the product, the arc turns off. In the "Grid" mode, when contact with metal is lost, the plasma torch switches to low-current mode and within 5 seconds. waits for the end of the air gap for the next arc start.
The principle of tunnel cooling reduces the temperature inside the housing by 15%, compared to sources of traditional design. The efficiency of the inverter when operating from an external compressor is 60%.
The control unit is isolated from the power unit. The control boards are covered with a compound layer that prevents the electronics from failing if moisture or conductive dust gets into the case. The ARM platform Spectrum 105 COMPRESSOR increases the quality and speed of signal processing. The two-module full-bridge power supply circuit based on IGBT transistors guarantees high reliability and a long service life of the source.
The standby arc of the device ensures a successful start of the process on any surface and in any spatial position. Two air valves of different capacities are mounted on the source for the standby and cutting arc.
The Spectrum 105 COMPRESSOR is equipped with several types of protection: overcurrent, overheating, voltage drop, phase distortion, etc. In case of an emergency, the device will go into protection and display the error code on the scoreboard.
The source has passed a full cycle of production tests: exposure to low (-25C) and high (+55C) temperatures, high humidity and precipitation, overloads, 300 hours of continuous operation, vibration, multiple cycles of switching on and off the source, and even jammed compressor rotor failed to disable the device. At the end of the tests, the source remained operational.
MMA
The RDS welding mode is suitable for working with electrodes from 2.5 to 5mm in diameter. The current range is 75-300A. MON in MMA mode is 100%, at maximum current (300A) and +40C. The device is equipped with software Arc Boost and Antistick function.
