GeoPlastBord garden borders: from flexible edging for flower beds to corner profiles for paving tiles

Share:

GeoPlastBoard is a Russian manufacturer of garden edging. The company began in 2017 with just one product: a one-meter-long edging strip with a height of 45 mm. Today, the company offers several plastic edging designs; the choice between them depends on what the edging is intended to contain—whether it is the edge of a flower bed, crushed stone on a path, or paving tiles.

When the company first started, landscaping projects primarily relied on flexible edging strips and three-meter-long plastic borders. GeoPlastBord initially imported these borders from Europe, but in 2019, the company launched its own production of one-meter sections featuring end-locking mechanisms—a type of product that, according to the company, had not been manufactured in Russia before.

The locking mechanism addresses the primary challenge associated with shorter sections. The pieces can be joined into a continuous line, allowing for the creation of a closed perimeter around flower beds, gravel paths, or the rubberized surfaces of playgrounds. Connecting bridges are positioned between the anchoring tabs; these help maintain the shape along straight runs, but can be cut away to create curves or undulating lines. With a wall thickness of 5 mm and integrated structural ribs, these borders provide the necessary reinforcement for the edges of paths or foundation aprons without the need for concrete. On the Enex platform, these borders are sold in kits that include the necessary stakes—for example, an 8-meter set (78 mm in height) that comes with 32 stakes.

Rigid sections aren't necessary for flower beds

If a boundary follows a tight radius—for instance, around a tree trunk or along the edge of a shaped flower bed—a flexible edging is a more convenient choice. The DEKO edging strip features a 1 mm thick wall, topped with a 16 mm diameter tube. Once buried, it leaves a neat, rounded rim visible above the ground. Its V-shaped bottom edge acts as an anchor. While it does require some form of fastening, you only need about one peg per meter. Beyond defining zones, the strip also helps keep plant roots contained. An example is the 10-meter DEKO strip.

An intermediate option is the Mango edging. It comes in a 10-meter roll, complete with pegs, and can be cut to size using a standard hacksaw or tin snips—for example, the 55 mm high Mango edging. A new addition to the lineup is "Mango Premium," made from HDPE with a 3.5 mm thick wall. This material is rot-resistant and, according to the manufacturer, retains its shape in temperatures ranging from −50°C to +70°C.

L-shaped edging for paving tiles

For pathways, the company produces the Staff series: L-shaped plastic edging up to 10 cm in height. The horizontal flange is laid underneath the paving tiles, while the vertical edge can also be installed on a concrete base. It is made of PVC with UV protection; the material does not absorb moisture and is resistant to alkalis and mineral oils. The sections are joined end-to-end, leaving a 3–4 mm gap to accommodate thermal expansion. For the tallest edging option, there is the Staff 10 cm high edging — a 20-meter set complete with anchoring stakes.

Since 2021, GeoPlastBoard has also been manufacturing aluminum edging, while continuing to expand its plastic product line: the DECO series was introduced in 2023–2024, along with new height options for the Staff series (45 mm and 60 mm). The company offers special terms for landscape and construction firms.
