TMK precision machine vise from Kottami: uncompromising precision and new opportunities for your production!

Share:

Kottami company presents an updated line of mechanical precision vise series TMK, designed specifically for reliable fastening of parts on metalworking machines. TMK's equipment combines high strength, positioning accuracy and modularity, allowing the equipment to be adapted to any production task.

Key Specifications of the TMK Series

The entire TMK machine vise lineup is engineered with a focus on durability and geometric stability under intensive machining loads:

  • Working surface hardness: 55 HRC.
  • Workpiece positioning repeatability: 0.02 mm.
  • Jaw height: 50 mm.

The product range features models with dimensions ranging from 260x120x100 mm to a substantial 420x200x100 mm, allowing you to select the ideal solution for workpieces of various sizes. However, the key advantage of the series lies in the choice of clamping mechanism.

Two Clamping Mechanism Options for Different Tasks

1. Classic screw block (Maximum clamping force) A universal "block, screw, and jaw" assembly providing a 51 mm jaw travel. The block effortlessly repositions along the vise body once two retaining bolts are loosened.

  • Clamping force: up to 5,500 kgf at a tightening torque of 160 N•m.
  • Best suited for: heavy and rough machining operations demanding maximum clamping rigidity.

2. Wedge-lock jaw with screw (Sub-micron precision) The movable jaw slides along the entire vise body via an internal drive strip. Clamping is performed by an angled actuating screw.

  • Clamping force: 1,700 kgf at 120 N•m.
  • Key advantage: This clamping style delivers exceptionally high positioning repeatability — down to 1 µm, making this setup ideal for high-precision finishing operations.

Automation and Functional Expansion

Kottami TMK vises are more than standard mechanical workholding fixtures; they serve as the foundation for building a flexible manufacturing setup.

Pneumohydraulic Intensifier (PHI) — Convert mechanics into pneumatics Equipping standard manual TMK mechanical vises with a PHI module transforms them into a fully automated pneumatic clamping system. The intensifier multiplies air pressure by a factor of 48, converting pneumatic power into hydraulic clamping force.

  • The result: the machine operator clamps the workpiece at the push of a button. This drastically accelerates part changeover times and completely eliminates human error (eliminating the risk of undertightening or overclamping components). Notably, the Kottami PHI module is fully compatible with Italian GERARDI vises and comparable GT-series fixtures.

Innovative Swivel Extension Adapter (for model TMK 420/160) A swivel extension adapter is available for the flagship model, enabling quick adjustments to the clamping range without repositioning the main screw block. The extension features three length settings, installs directly into guide slots without extra hand tools, and saves substantial setup time during batch changeovers.

Kottami TMK precision mechanical milling vises cover the complete spectrum of milling tasks: from heavy roughing (up to 5.5 tons of clamping force) to sub-micron finish machining (1 µm repeatability). The ability to upgrade with a PHI unit makes them a compelling investment in automating your machine shop and driving higher cycle speeds.
