Design features and advantages
The design of the MX "Crab" clamp includes a sealer, thanks to which it can be operated in the temperature range from -50 to +110 ° C. When heated to +140 ° C, the material hardens after 42 minutes.
Depending on the diameter of the clamp, the thickness of the sealing gasket varies: for small sizes (½"-3") it is 3 mm, for large ones (3½"-6") - 5 mm. The MX "Crab" repair clamp, made of high-quality materials, will help in solving problems with galvanized pipes and is designed for the most demanded pipe diameters. Quick installation
To install the MX "Crab" clamp, it is enough to take three steps:
Step 1. Clean the damaged section of the pipe from dirt and rust.
Step 2. Pull back one part of the yoke and apply both halves with the inner part of the yoke to the leak site.

One of the key advantages of the MX "Crab" yoke is its ease of use in hard–to-reach places. Mir Khomutov company recently received a thank you from a customer who was able to solve his long-standing problem with this product. The fact is that at his facility, the pipe on which the leak formed was located very close to the wall. The old-style fasteners did not technically allow to eliminate the leak. And attempts to use special patches or fill the leak with glue did not lead to anything. And only the repair quick-release clamp MX "Crab" allowed the leak to be fixed.
Field test results
To confirm the achievement of the claimed technical advantages of the MX "Crab" clamp, a series of 40 field tests were carried out for various pipe diameters (from 20 to 60 mm), with different pipe pressures (from 10 to 15 bar). The estimated criterion was the probability of uptime for 480 hours. The detection of a leak in the place of its sealing was considered as a failure.
As a result of the tests, not a single leak was detected, that is, the probability of trouble-free operation is 100%. In addition, the mounting time of the clamp was estimated, which was 25-45 seconds, while the same criterion for the prototype varies in the range of 60-95 seconds.
Also, during trial operation, it was found that the claimed solution ensures stable and balanced functioning of the engineering water supply (or heating) system, simplifies the installation of the clamp and makes it possible to use it on pipes of various diameters.
Duration of operation
Since the MX "Crab" clamp is designed to eliminate leaks in the pipe, this implies a limited period of its use – it is installed in an emergency situation and will be removed along with the pipe when it is replaced. However, in practice, the yoke can be left on for a relatively long time. This is especially true when the cost of replacing the pipe significantly exceeds the installation of the clamp.
The specialists of the Mir Khomutov company guarantee that the MX "Crab" yoke will be able to perform its function for at least a year. In principle, it will last for 10 years, but here you need to take into account the operating conditions: the presence of an acidic environment or salt deposits, etc .
