Scope of application
Diamond drilling is a core drilling technology in which the material is not destroyed over the entire area, but along a ring. The holes are smooth, with millimeter‑level accuracy, without chips or cracks, and do not require additional processing. Heden DMC-160V2, with a drilling diameter of up to 110 mm in concrete and up to 160 mm in brick, covers a wide range of construction and installation tasks:
- Ventilation and air conditioning. Holes for supply and exhaust ducts, kitchen hoods, breathers, and recuperators (typical diameters: 112–162 mm).
- Water supply and sewage. Penetrations through walls and ceilings for water supply pipes, heating pipes, and sewage risers (diameters: 52–152 mm).
- Electrical and low‑voltage systems. Channels for power cables, cable trays, internet and TV cables, holes for sockets and electrical panels (32–82 mm).
- Gas supply. Inlets for gas mains through walls and foundations.
- Installation of air conditioners. Holes for freon routes and drainage of split systems (42–52 mm), including after finishing.
- Flues. Penetrations for coaxial boiler outlets (112–122 mm).
The technology is particularly in demand at facilities with restrictions on noise and vibration — in residential buildings, offices, hospitals, as well as during the renovation of buildings where impact methods are unacceptable.
Technical features
- Two-speed gearbox. The first gear (1330 rpm) is for large-diameter crowns, the second (2630 rpm) is for small ones.
- Two modes: standard and impact. The impact mode (micro-impact up to 52,600 bpm without load) is designed for hard materials. The switch is located on the body. Important: the impact mode cannot be used during wet drilling.
- Electronic speed stabilizer maintains constant RPM regardless of load.
- Soft start and overload protection. If the bit gets stuck, the electronics automatically shut off the motor, preventing overheating and operator injury.
- Copper motor winding ensures better heat dissipation during intensive operation.
- Safety clutch activates only under critical load — no shutdowns occur during normal drilling.
