50 years Sandflex!

In 1969 the introduction of the bi-metal hacksaw blade Sandflex^® heralded a new era in metal-cutting blade technology.

It was born in Lidköping, Sweden with highly accurate research and development processes and innovative Swedish design. Bi-metal Sandlfex blades are virtually unbreakable, shatterproof and suitable for cutting almost everything.

During the ‘70s the Sandflex blade expansion begun starting at Malaysia, Thailand, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Central America. In the ‘80s Asian market also included Indonesia and ’90 was the turn for the African countries. An unstoppable expansion that has become Sandflex one of the most known and trusted blades in the world.

The identity of the blade has evolved during these 50 years. Starting in the ‘80s with the biggest part of the blade in blue as part of the Sandvik heritage. The ‘90s balanced the orange and blue taking 50/50 of the blade. Finally en the mid-2000s starts the full orange identity branding era which everyone in the world recognises as the highest quality Bahco Sandflex blade.
