The history of Hitachi / HiKOKI

The year is 1910. Hitachi company was founded. Currently, it is one of the largest Japanese corporations and industrial companies in the world.

The year is 1948. Hitachi Power Tools was founded. The production of the first models of power tools under this brand began on the basis of Hitachi's production facilities.

The year is 2003. On June 16, a representative office was opened in Moscow for the countries of the Russian Federation, the CIS and the Baltic States. In a short time, we have created an efficient distribution and service network and have become one of the market leaders. The company buys Tanaka, one of the leading Japanese manufacturers of gasoline tools, and thereby significantly expands its product range by adding a whole range of gardening equipment. There have been previous acquisitions of Sankyo and CARAT companies, thus we have significantly strengthened our position as a manufacturer of diamond machinery and consumables .

The year is 2015. The company acquired into its assets one of the leading manufacturers of power tools, the company. Metabo. The brand and distribution remained the same as before, but gradually we got the opportunity to include the most interesting solutions in the product ranges of the two brands Hitachi and Metabo.

The year is 2018. The representative office of Hitachi Power Tools in Russia and the CIS turns 15 years old.

The year is 2018-2019. Hitachi Power Tools company is changing its name and trademark to HiKOKI Power Tools. After it was acquired by the largest investment fund KKR. The range, model characteristics, and production remain the same as before, but we have additional resources for development and greater flexibility to respond to market demands. The new name is a successor to the name of the Hitachi Koki company (Koki means "tool" in Japanese) and at the same time shows the connection with high technology and market leadership (High – high, historical roots of Hitachi, "1" – in the graphic design of the logo)
