Gesipa
The GESIPA range of tools includes hand-held, cordless and pneumatic-hydraulic tools, as well as a station for automatic feeding and setting of rivets. Some models of GESIPA rivets are unmatched among competitors, for example, accumulator models Accubird, PowerBird, Firebird, pneumohydraulic - Taurus, manual Flipper model. The resource of many GESIPA rivets allows you to install up to 2 million rivets, after replacing some parts, the tools fully restore their functionality. It is especially worth highlighting the automatic riveting station GAV 8000 and GAV HF with a setting speed of up to 40 pcs / min.
Additional equipment that can be equipped with riveters:
- attachments for working in hard-to-reach places;
- nozzles for creating movable joints;
- pedal control of one or more riveters;
- metering devices for the quantity and quality of installed rivets;
- automatic feeding of rivets, etc.
History of the Gesipa company
In 1955, Hans Biermann and his wife Ines Biermann founded a small company in Frankfurt am Main. The company was called GESellschaft fur Internationale PAtentverwertung mbH, which translates as a limited liability company for the use of an international patent. The initial letters gave the name GESIPA. The main activity of the company was the patent registration of new technical inventions and their commercial use, both in Germany and around the world. |
Shortly thereafter, GESIPA registered 2 patents "a method of joining materials using a hollow rivet with a tear-off shank" and a "hand tool for setting hollow rivets with a tear-off shank". Now these rivets are known as "pull rivets" or "blind rivet" in English, and the tool is called "riveter" or "blind riveter". |
However, this revolutionary way of joining materials was not immediately used by manufacturing companies. GESIPA's participation in the 1959 Hannover Trade Fair marked a watershed in the fate of the rivet. The new rivet revolutionized material joining! |
The exhibition allowed discovering new areas of application and gaining new customers, also outside Germany. The growing needs of the customers required an increase in production and an expansion of the range of rivets and rivets. |
In 1965, Gesipa opens its first foreign office in Vienna, the capital of Austria. This strategically important office made it possible to supply Gesipa rivets and rivets to the whole of Austria, as well as neighboring countries. Warehouse area of 700 sq. meters allowed to meet the needs of buyers as quickly as possible. |
The growing production of GESIPA rivets and rivets made it necessary to relocate the production. 1969 GESIPA moves to a purpose-built new production site in the Frankfurt suburb of Morfelden-Walldorf. The new production site includes: production, warehouse and offices. |
In 1971, GESIPA expanded its international presence by opening two production sites in the United Kingdom and Brazil. Expansion of production allows expanding the range - the types of traction rivets are expanding, and the production of a new type of fasteners is introduced - rivets-nuts (rivets with an internal thread). |
In the same year, the company launched the first PH-1 S pneumatic hydraulic riveter. Gesipa introduced a new product quality control system. |
In 1972, Gesipa produced the first manual riveter for rivet nuts - model GBM10. |
1975 - the year of the 20th anniversary of the company was marked by several important events. - Doubled production and storage space at the headquarters in Walldorf - Opening of a production site and a sales office in the USA, Trenton (New Jersey), which allowed us to cover the American market - The company already includes 7 factories and representative offices |
Gesipa's products are in demand in many industries: automotive, metal structures, car building, construction and much more. Thus, the traction rivet has proven its right to exist. In 1980, the company produces the first riveting station with automatic rivet feeding - GAV (Gesipa Avtomatik) !! |
In the same year, the founder of Gesipa, Hans Biermann, suddenly dies. Gesipa is still headed by his wife. |
In the 80s, such models of rivets as PH2000, GBM85, GBM95, PH-Axial, GAV6000 were developed and produced. Some of them are still being produced, which shows their high reliability and quality. In 1990, Gesipa acquires Olympic Fastening System, a Louisiana manufacturing facility that manufactures structural rivets for the world. These rivets are called MegaGrip, G-Lock, Bulb-Tite. |
In 1991, following the reunification of Germany, Gesipa buys the Thuringia plant in Thal, which, after modernization, will become the largest plant in Gesipa, even today. |
In the same year, Gesipa develops the first prototype of a cordless rivet. |
In the same year, the world-renowned AccuBird cordless rivet and PolyGrip rivets went on sale. These two new products will give the company a significant boost in development. |
In 1994, Gesipa acquires Weber Ochsenfeld in Siegen, Germany, which is an expert in cold forming and extrusion of parts. The company was renamed W + O and moved to a new production site in Olpe in 1995. The W + O plant is currently a 5,700 sqm production site. |
In 1994, the FireBird Cordless Riveter for Nut Rivets goes on sale. |
In 1997, a representative office was opened in Poland, in 1999 in Spain, in 2001 in the Czech Republic, in 2002 in Hungary. |
In 2001, the production of pneumohydraulic rivets of the Taurus series was launched. These rivets feature a new patented jaw mechanism. This series stands out due to its minimal weight and high rivet pulling force. The compressed air in these rivets is used optimally with maximum efficiency to ensure fast riveting. Taurus riveters operate quietly with minimal kickback and vibration. In 2002, Gesipa acquires the Danish company Unibolt, thus closing all production problems associated with the production of cold formed fasteners. |
In 2006 the Russian representative office of the Gesipa company was opened with the central office in St. Petersburg.
In 2015, a new automatic rivet-nut setting station FireRex is launched |
