Joint Stock Company "Institute of Plastics named after G.S. Petrov " JSC "Institute of Plastics" (INSTITUTE OF PLASTICS)— an innovative industrial complex aimed at the development and development of industrial technologies in the field of polymer and composite materials, as well as products based on them.

JSC "Institute of Plastics" is a holding company in the chemical industry with the parent organization of JSC "ONPP "Technology" named after A.G.Romashin" Rostec State Corporation.

The Research Institute of Plastic Materials (NIIPM) was established in April 1943 on the basis of the Moscow Experimental Plant of Plastic Materials as the main research and design institute of the industry of plastic materials and synthetic resins. During the Great Patriotic War, the company's staff performed government tasks to provide the front with materials for ammunition, communications equipment, military equipment and weapons.

The Institute's activities were aimed at performing a wide range of tasks for the synthesis of new resins and polymers, the creation of composite materials based on them and their processing, the creation of production facilities for the synthesis and processing of plastics, including the development of equipment and design documentation.

In the post-war period of the restoration of the national economy in the period from 1960 to 1980, the Institute was at the forefront of the implementation of the Government's strategy for the Chemicalization of the national economy in accordance with State programs for accelerated development of the country's economy.

In 1969, the Ministry of Chemical Industry of the USSR set the Institute fundamentally new scientific and technical tasks of an industry scale in terms of creating production facilities in the country for the synthesis and production of engineering polymers not previously mastered in our country (polycorbate, polyamides, polyformaldehyde, polybutylene terephthalate, polysulfone, etc.), as well as materials for their based on. In the same year, the Institute was redesigned for these areas.

The work of the Institute during this period provided a significant amount of the needs of the sectors of the economy in structural polymers. Thus, the scientific, technological, organizational and technical basis was laid, ensuring the independence of the country's economy from the import of polymer materials for engineering purposes.

Currently, JSC "Institute of Plastics" is a multifunctional research and production enterprise, which includes research, design, technological divisions and pilot production.

Research, testing and technological bases allow to carry out a full range of work: problem statement, research and development work, transition from laboratory technology to pilot production, creation of hardware design of the process, production of serial products.

In the modern domestic plastics industry, JSC "Institute of Plastics" traditionally occupies a leading position in the development and production of new high-tech polymer materials. The Institute is a developer and owner of patents for the production of structural thermoplastics and binders, as well as the only manufacturer in Russia of a number of components for the production of composite materials, consumers of which are defense, aerospace, aviation and shipbuilding enterprises.

The Institute has a great scientific and technical potential and has vast experience in the field of creating multi-profile modern production facilities for the synthesis of plastics and high-tech industries for their processing, including the creation of basic types of equipment for industrial production. This determines the readiness of the Institute to solve new big tasks for the modernization and further development of the polymer industry of our country.
