JSC “Military Industrial Complex of NPO Mashinostroeniya“

Joint Stock Company "Military Industrial Corporation "Scientific and Production Association of Mechanical Engineering" is one of the leading rocket and space enterprises in Russia. As the main enterprise in a multidisciplinary cooperation, it provides the country's Armed Forces with the latest types of military equipment, carries out military-technical cooperation with foreign partners.

In 1944, under the leadership of the outstanding designer and scientist Vladimir Nikolaevich Chelomey, the enterprise was tasked with creating a new type of weapon – unmanned aerial projectiles for arming the Air Force, and then other branches of the armed Forces.

In the mid-50s, cruise missiles were created and deployed on submarines of the country's Navy to strike back at ground targets located thousands of kilometers from the borders of the USSR on the coast and deep into enemy territory. This made it possible to implement the first effective confrontation with potential aggressors in post-war history, and later, after the creation of powerful anti-ship missiles, to provide a decent asymmetric response to the naval forces of potential opponents. Today, the basis of the anti-ship armament of the Russian Navy consists of combat complexes with cruise missiles created at the enterprise.

Since 1960, the company has been creating space complexes, systems, launch vehicles and intercontinental ballistic missiles. Some of the complexes developed at that time are still in operation at the present time. For example, the famous "sotki" (ICBM UR-100) of various modifications provide strategic parity in the nuclear confrontation from the mid-60s to the present day.

Throughout history, many fundamentally new developments in the field of rocket engineering and space technology have been born in the NPO of mechanical engineering. The secret of success lies in an integrated approach to solving the tasks that time sets. This allows you to perform them as efficiently as possible, economically and in a short time.

This is how the world's first global marine space reconnaissance satellites, maneuvering spacecraft, the Proton heavy launch vehicle and manned and automated space stations put into orbit with its help, complexes with intercontinental ballistic missiles, high-performance cruise missiles for various purposes were created.

For its more than seventy-year history, JSC "Military Industrial Complex "NPO Mashinostroeniya" has developed and put into service more than 25 rocket and space rocket complexes for various purposes.

And today JSC "Military Industrial Complex "NPO Mashinostroeniya" continues to work on projects of national importance, to create the most complex rocket and rocket-space complexes and systems that have no analogues in the world.

Unique experience in the field of rocket and space technologies and constant scientific and engineering search allow us to successfully carry out work within the framework of the state defense order and confidently develop cooperation with foreign countries.

On the basis of an intergovernmental agreement with the Republic of India, a joint Russian-Indian organization BrahMos has been established and is successfully operating to create missile systems with the same name supersonic anti-ship multi-purpose long-range cruise missile.

The successful work of the enterprise for decades has been a determining factor in the development of the city of Reutov and in awarding it the status of a Science City of the Russian Federation in 2003.

Currently, a vertically integrated structure has been created under the head role of JSC MIC NPO Mashinostroeniya  The Military-Industrial Corporation NPO Mashinostroeniya, whose main task is to ensure guaranteed fulfillment of the State Defense Order, international contracts in the field of military-technical cooperation and increasing the production of civilian and dual-use products.

In turn, the Military-Industrial Corporation NPO Mashinostroeniya is part of the Tactical Missile Armament Corporation.
