MOSGAZ JSC is the largest gas transportation company in the world, providing uninterrupted and safe gas supply to Moscow consumers and maintaining a confident position in the life support system of the metropolitan agglomeration.

The history of the gas industry in Moscow began on November 29, 1865 – on this day, the first 6 miles of cast-iron gas pipelines with "luminescent" gas for city lights were launched. Over the past century and a half, the capital's gas workers have built the largest gas transportation enterprise in the world, operating 7.5 thousand kilometers of gas pipelines and more than 300 gas control points.

General scheme of gas supply of the city of Moscow

The general scheme of gas supply of the city of Moscow is a long–term plan for the development and technical re-equipment of the city gas distribution system. On the basis of the scheme, the specialists of MOSGAZ JSC are working on the formation of a reliable, stable, investment-attractive and safe gas supply system for consumers in Moscow and the nearest Moscow region.

The main tasks of the General Gas Supply scheme:

• ensuring reliable operation of the gas supply system to consumers, taking into account the development of the city of Moscow and its generating capacities;

• removal of restrictions on the connection of new consumers in the city of Moscow due to insufficient capacity of elements of the gas distribution network;

• reduction of capital and operating costs during construction and reconstruction of gas facilities in Moscow;

• ensuring environmental safety of the city's gas supply and gas distribution system.
