JWL-1421VS is a compact lathe with an increased turning diameter, created on the basis of the JWL-1221VS model. With similar dimensions, it allows you to process parts with a diameter of up to 14 inches: bowls, dishes, plates and other items for the manufacture of which a large length of the base is not needed.
The machine belongs to the new Jet professional line and combines modern control electronics with an improved mechanical part. It has significantly increased rigidity: in comparison with the analogues of the previous series, the bed has become wider, and the total weight has increased by 10 kg; more powerful spindle bearings have been used.
The rotation speed can be adjusted using the built-in electronics, while the selected value is displayed on the digital display. There is also a reverse switch on the control panel, which is indispensable for some types of work, for example, when grinding.
The transmission of rotation from the engine to the spindle is carried out by a 6-stream V-belt, three pairs of pulleys are provided to select the power range of the transmission. The belt is rearranged without the use of an auxiliary tool: a ratchet lever is responsible for the tension.
The eccentric attachment systems of the armrest and tailstock make their settings just as simple and fast. There is a dividing device with a spring-loaded pin for fixing the spindle, which also simplifies the installation / disassembly of the faceplate on the spindle (this requires only one key).
Extensions can be purchased for the machine bed and stand, in this case the maximum center distance will increase to 1010 mm.
