JBM-4 is a slotting grooving machine for preparing parts for direct (90°) docking with a spike-groove connection. The sturdy and rigid structure is made of massive cast iron castings. The column is fixed at right angles to the plane of the desktop, its position is not adjustable, this simplifies the setup and increases the accuracy of the machine.
The workpiece is placed on the coordinate table along the stop and fixed with a screw clamp with an inclined axis. A large flywheel with a handle is responsible for moving along, the extreme points are set by adjustable end stops. The movement across is considered secondary and is mainly used to install the cutter in the center of the workpiece, so the lead screw rotates not with a flywheel, but with a small knurled handle. All parts of the table, including stops and clamps, are made of cast iron, which ensures rigidity and absence of vibrations during operation.
