Primer HS-059 "LiDA" GRAY (semi-finished product with hardener No. 5)
Description
Type:Primer HS-059 "LiDA" is a two-component system consisting of a semi-finished primer and hardener No. 5 (TU 6-10-1093), mixed before use.Semi-finished primers and enamels are a suspension of pigments in a solution of vinyl chloride copolymer with vinyl acetate in a mixture of organic solvents with the addition of epoxy resin and plasticizer.
Scope of application: primer and enamel are designed to protect the outer surfaces of railway freight cars and tanks, equipment, metal and reinforced concrete structures exposed to solutions of mineral acids, alkalis, salts, aggressive gases (SO2, CO2, NO2, NH3) and other chemical reagents with a temperature not exceeding 60 ° C, and for operation indoors – in combination with varnish HS-724 (GOST 23494).
The production of a primer and enamel of a different color is carried out under an agreement with the customer.
Primer and enamel are supplied complete: semi–finished primer – 100 mass parts and hardener No. 5 - 2.6 mass parts; semi–finished enamel - 100 mass parts and hardener No. 5 - 2.8 mass parts.
The primer and enamel are diluted before use to a working viscosity of 14-16 c according to a viscometer type VZ-246 (or VZ-4) with a nozzle diameter of 4 mm at a temperature of (20.0 ± 0.5) ° C with solvents P-4, P-4A (GOST 7827).
Advantages:The primer and enamel form a chemically resistant coating to protect the surface from the effects of aggressive alkaline and acidic environments operated in atmospheric conditions of various climatic regions, as well as for indoor use – in combination with varnish HS-724 (GOST 23494).
The primer can be used for weather-resistant PVC enamels of the XB brand and enamels based on copolymers vinyl chloride.
Surface preparation:Preparation of the surface of the product for painting is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the TNPA for the product, GOST 9.402 or STB ISO 12944-4.
The metal surface must be thoroughly cleaned of rust, scale and other contaminants before applying the primer (it is necessary to remove notches, burrs, welding splashes, round off sharp edges, corners, teeth and welding seams; there should be no grease, marking paint and other substances on the surface, such as mineral impurities, water-soluble salts affecting the quality surface preparation), sanded, degreased and thoroughly dried. It is most carefully necessary to clean the surface in the area of welds up to 3 cm wide from the remnants of fluxes, alkaline slags and oxides formed during welding. To improve the protective properties of the surface, it is recommended to pre-clean by sandblasting or shot blasting to the degree of purification from oxides 1-2 according to GOST 9.402. If necessary, the area of welds up to 3 cm wide should be treated with an additional layer of primer (paint with a brush) before painting.
Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned of dust, grease, sanded, degreased, dried and tested for staining. In case of swelling or peeling, the old coating must be removed.
To avoid condensation of moisture, the temperature of the painted surfaces must be at least
3 °C above the dew point temperature.
Reinforced concrete surfaces should be clean, dry, durable, without cracks, loose areas, dust and dirt. If necessary, concrete and reinforced concrete surfaces are cleaned dry (with brushes) and dedusted.
Application. Before use, semi-finished primers and enamels are thoroughly mixed. To 100 mass parts of the semi-finished primer and 100 mass parts of the semi-finished enamel, 2.6 and 2.8 mass parts of hardener No. 5 are added, respectively, thoroughly mixed and diluted with solvents P-4 and P-4A (GOST 7827) in an amount of up to 40% of the mass of the primer and enamel, filtered and applied to the prepared surfaces by pneumatic spraying. It is allowed to apply primer and enamel with a brush in hard-to-reach places.
The consumer independently selects the working viscosity depending on the production conditions (ambient temperature in the room, the diameter of the spray nozzle, the working pressure of compressed air, etc.).
In case of storage at low temperatures, the primer and enamel are kept in a warm room before application (to avoid condensation of moisture on the painted surface during painting) for at least 24 hours.
In the case of surface cleaning by sandblasting or shot blasting, the coating thickness should be increased taking into account the degree of surface roughness Ra (GOST 2789).
Obtaining a comprehensive coating for surfaces operated in open areas.
One layer of primer and two to four layers of enamel are applied successively to the prepared surface. Interlayer drying between layers is carried out for 30 minutes at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° C and final drying – for 3 hours at a temperature of 70-75 ° C or for 24 hours at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° C and relative humidity (65 ± 5) %. The thickness of the dried the complex coating should be 60 – 125 microns.
Obtaining a comprehensive coating for surfaces operated indoors.
One layer of primer, two to four layers of enamel and one layer of varnish HS-724 (GOST 23494) are applied sequentially to the prepared surface. The thickness of the dried the complex coating should be 80 - 150 microns.
The coating system acquires operational qualities after exposure for 5-7 days.
The consumptionof primer and enamel for a single-layer coating is 120-150 g/m2 and 130-160 g/m2, respectively, without taking into account the complexity of the surface to be painted, its preparation, application method, color, personnel qualifications and other factors.
Storage:Semi-finished primers and enamels should be stored in tightly closed containers, away from heating devices and protected from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep away from fire.
Precautions: Persons involved in the painting work should be provided with personal protective equipment (overalls, goggles, rubber gloves). During the painting works and after their completion, ventilate the room.
The dried coating does not have a toxic effect on the environment and the human body.
