Description
Type:The primer is a suspension of pigment and filler in a solution of vinyl chloride copolymer in organic solvents.
Scope of application: Primer HS-04 is designed to cover the inner surface of metal and reinforced concrete tanks with subsequent overlap with white enamel HS-558 (TU 6-10-592), used for storage and transportation of wine materials with an ethyl alcohol content of not more than 20%, as well as for transportation and storage of drinking and industrial water.
Advantages:The primer forms a coating from red-brown to brown, with increased resistance to ethyl alcohol and water.
The complex coating with primer HS-04 and enamel HS-558 is resistant to temperature changes from minus 40 ° C to plus 60 ° C.
Surface preparation:Work on the preparation and painting of the surface of the tank with a primer must be carried out in accordance with the developed technological regulations for this type of work and GOST 9.402.
The method and method of cleaning the metal surface is set depending on the thickness of the metal and the degree of oxidation of the surface when cleaning to a degree of 1-2 according to GOST 9.402. The metal surface before application must be thoroughly cleaned of rust, scale and other contaminants (it is necessary to remove notches, burrs, welding splashes, round off sharp edges, corners, teeth and welding seams; there should be no grease, marking paint and other substances on the surface, such as mineral impurities, water-soluble salts affecting the quality of surface preparation), cleaned, dust-free, degreased with acetone or solvents P-4 or P-4A (GOST 7827) and thoroughly dried. If necessary, the area of welds up to 3 cm wide should be treated with an additional layer of primer (paint with a brush) before painting.
Previously painted surfaces are cleaned of fragile layers of the old coating, the exfoliated old coating is removed, the entire surface is cleaned mechanically, dedusted, degreased and dried.
The primer should be applied to the prepared surface no later than 3 hours after its treatment. It is not allowed to paint during precipitation, on a wet and icy surface.
To avoid condensation of moisture, the temperature of the painted surface must be at least 3 °C above the dew point temperature.
Reinforced concrete surfaces should be clean, dry, durable, without cracks, loose areas, dust and dirt. If necessary, reinforced concrete surfaces are cleaned dry (with brushes) and dedusted.
The humidity of the surface layer of the reinforced concrete surface should not exceed 4%.
If necessary, the problem areas should be treated with an additional layer of primer before painting (paint with a brush).
Application:before application, the primer is thoroughly mixed, diluted with solvent P-4 or P-4A in an amount of up to 30%, filtered and applied to the prepared surface by pneumatic spraying at a temperature of 15 – 35 ° C and a relative humidity of not more than 70%. It is possible to apply the primer with a brush with the initial viscosity.
In case of storage at low temperatures, the primer is kept in a warm room before application (to avoid condensation of moisture on the surface to be painted during painting) for at least 24 hours.
In the case of surface cleaning by sandblasting or shot blasting, the coating thickness should be increased taking into account the degree of surface roughness Ra (GOST 2789).
Obtaining a complex coating using enamel HS-558.
To cover the internal surfaces of metal and reinforced concrete tanks, 2-3 layers of primer are applied (the thickness of the single-layer dried coating should be 15-20 microns), and then 4 layers of enamel HS–558 (the thickness of the single-layer dried coating should be 20-30 microns). Drying of each layer is carried out for 4-6 hours at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° C with air purging to remove traces of solvent and then for 16-20 hours at a temperature of 60-80 ° C with heated air that does not contain moisture.
Then the tanks with a complex coating are washed with cold water, 5% soda solution, rinsed with cold, then heated to 60 ° C water, disinfected with 0.1% bleach solution and dried.
Exposure of the complex coating before operation for at least 14 days with sufficient ventilation.
The consumption of the primerfor a single-layer coating is 90 - 120 g/m2
Keeping:The primer should be stored in a tightly closed container, protecting it from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep away from fire.
