Description
Type:GF-021 primer is a suspension of pigments and fillers in alkyd varnish, with the addition of solvents, a siccative and stabilizing substances.
Scope of application:The GF-021 primer is designed for priming metal and wooden surfaces under coatings with various enamels.
Advantages:

- the primer coating is resistant to temperature changes from minus 45 ° C to plus 60 °C.
Surface preparation:The metal surface must be thoroughly cleaned of rust, scale and other contaminants before applying the primer (it is necessary to remove notches, burrs, welding splashes, round off sharp edges, corners, teeth and welding seams; the surface must be free of grease, marking paint and other substances, such as mineral impurities, water-soluble salts, affecting on the quality of surface preparation), cleaned with a sandpaper (it is allowed to use a sandpaper with a grain size of 4 or 5 according to GOST 6456), degreased with white spirit (GOST 3134) or nephras C2-80/120 (TU RB 100006485.148) and thoroughly dried. It is most carefully necessary to clean the surface in the area of welds up to 3 cm wide from the remnants of fluxes, alkaline slags and oxides formed during welding. To improve the protective properties of the surface, it is recommended to pre-clean by sandblasting or shot blasting to the degree of purification from oxides 1-2. Painting should be done no later than 4 hours after surface preparation. On welds, end edges and hard-to-reach places, primers are applied with a brush in the form of a "strip layer" before painting. Previously painted surfaces are cleaned of fragile layers of the old coating, the old coating is removed, the entire surface is cleaned with a sandpaper (it is allowed to use a sandpaper with a grain size of 4 or 5 according to GOST 6456), dedusted, degreased and dried. It is recommended to carry out a control staining of a small area of the surface. To avoid condensation of moisture, the temperature of the painted surface must be at least 3 °C above the dew point temperature.
The unpainted wooden surface must be cleaned of resinous substances, dried, cleaned to remove the lint with a sandpaper (it is allowed to use a sandpaper with a grain size of 4 or 5 according to GOST 6456) and dust-free. Before applying the coating layer of enamel, the primed surface must be sanded. It is necessary to remove various impurities from the previously painted surface, completely remove the peeling coating, sand and dust the surface.
Coating application:Before application, the primer must be thoroughly mixed, if necessary, diluted to a working viscosity with solvent, xylene, or a mixture of one of these solvents with white spirit in a ratio of 1:1 by weight, solvents PC-2, 649, 650. For painting products in the electropole, the primer is diluted with a RE-4B diluent. The primer is applied by methods of pneumatic and airless spraying, spraying in an electric field, jet pouring, dipping, brush. The drying time of a single–layer coating up to 3 degrees at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° C is no more than 24 hours. The thickness of the dried single-layer coating is 15-20 microns, after sandblasting or shot blasting, the coating thickness should be increased taking into account the degree of surface roughness Ra.
The consumptionof the primer for a single-layer coating is 60-100 g/m2 without taking into account the preparation of the painted surface, the method of application, the qualifications of personnel and other factors.
Precautions:When carrying out painting works in closed rooms, as well as after their completion, careful ventilation is necessary. Rubber gloves are used to protect the skin of the hands.
Keeping:Store the primer in a hermetically sealed container, protecting it from moisture and direct sunlight, away from heating devices, out of reach of children. Keep away from fire.
