Measurements of flue gas parameters for testing in heating systems make it possible to determine the amount of pollutants released into the environment with flue gases (e.g. carbon monoxide – CO or carbon dioxide – CO2), as well as calculate the heat loss with flue gases. In some countries, the requirements for measuring flue gases are prescribed in the legislation. The adoption of such laws has two main objectives: 1. Maximum possible reduction of emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere; 2. Efficient use of energy. It is forbidden to exceed the established maximum permissible values of pollutants in the atmosphere. The compliance of the measured values with the maximum permissible values is monitored during normal operation (measurements are carried out using appropriate instruments before each system start).
