Type:Enamels XB-124 are a suspension of pigments in a solution of medium-viscous polyvinyl chloride chlorinated resin and alkyd resin in a mixture of volatile organic solvents with the addition of a plasticizer.
Scope of application: Enamels are intended for painting primed metal surfaces, as well as wooden surfaces operated in atmospheric conditions. The norm for the indicator "Film wrinkling" is determined by the manufacturer periodically at the request of the consumer. The indicator "Shrinkage of the film" is determined for consumers using the technology of obtaining a coating with a gap in time.
Advantages:Enamel coatings have high decorative and protective properties.Enamels form a homogeneous coatingwith water, oil and gasoline resistance. XB-124 enamels applied to primed surfaces can be operated in atmospheric conditions of various climatic regions.
Surface preparation:Enamels are applied to the primed surface. Under the enamel XB-124, the use of primers is allowed according to GOST 9.401.
Surface preparation before applying primers is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the TNPA for the product, GOST 9.402 or STB ISO 12944-4.
To avoid condensation of moisture, the temperature of the painted surface must be at least 3 °C above the dew point temperature.
Application:Before applying to the surface by pneumatic and airless spraying, the enamels are diluted to a working viscosity with solvent P-4A (GOST 7827).
It is allowed to apply enamels by electrostatic spraying (in automatic chambers with the use of spark-preventing devices). At the same time, the enamels are diluted to working viscosity with the following diluents:
- diluent No. 1:
- xylene (GOST 9949, GOST 9410) – 40% (by weight);
- diacetone alcohol (TU 6-02-1045) – 25% (by weight);
- ethylcellosolv (GOST 8313) – 25% (by weight);
- butanol (GOST 5208) – 10% (by weight).
- diluent no. 2:
- solvent (GOST 10214) – 50% (by weight);
- xylene (GOST 9949, GOST 9410) – 35% (by weight);
- diacetone alcohol (TU 6-02-1045) – 15% (by weight).
The consumer independently selects the working viscosity depending on the production conditions (ambient temperature in the room, nozzle diameter of the spray gun, working pressure of compressed air, etc.).
In case of storage at low temperatures, the enamel is kept in a warm room before application (to avoid condensation of moisture on the painted surface during painting).
Enamels are applied to the primed surface in 3 - 4 layers. Drying between layers of enamel is carried out for 30 minutes at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° C. The final drying of the coating is carried out at a temperature of 60 - 70 ° C for 3 hours or at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° C for 24 hours.
The thickness of the dried film of a single-layer coating should be 18-23 microns.
Exposure of the coating before use for at least 7 days.
To eliminate the phenomenon of "wrinkling" that occurs due to the use of staining technology with a time gap between the application of the first and subsequent layers of XB-124 enamels, it is recommended to introduce guanide F (diphenylguanidine, hereinafter referred to as DFG) into enamels according to GOST 40-80. In this case, the specified time gap should not exceed 5 months.
The introduction of DPH is carried out by mixing enamel with a solution of DPH in acetone (GOST2768-84) immediately before use at a temperature from 15 ° C to 30 ° C. DPH is introduced in an amount of 1% of the mass of undiluted enamel (in terms of dry DPH). The preparation of the DFG solution is carried out at a temperature from 15 ° C to 30 ° C by dissolving the DFG in acetone in a ratio by weight of 1 : 9.
The consumption of enamelsfor a single-layer coating is 110-140 g/m2, without taking into account the complexity of the surface to be painted, its preparation, application method, color, personnel qualifications and other factors.
Service life of the coating:The terms of preservation of the protective and decorative properties of the coating in a temperate climate – in accordance with GOST 9.074, tropical climate – GOST 9.401, cold climate – GOST 9.404.
The service life of the coating, consisting of three layers of enamel XB-124, applied to the primed surface, in a temperate climate – at least 3 years.
The service life of the coating, consisting of four layers of enamel XB-124, applied to a surface primed with two layers of primer FL-03K (GOST 9109), in a tropical climate is at least 3 years.
The service life of the coating, consisting of three layers of enamel XB-124, applied to the surface primed with AK-070 primer (GOST 25718) or VL-02 primer (GOST 12707) with aluminum powder, in cold climates – at least 4 years.
The coating retains its protective and decorative properties in compliance with the requirements of the TNPA for coating, drying and operation in cold, temperate and tropical climates.
Storage:Enamels should be stored in tightly closed containers, protecting them from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep away from fire.
Precautions:Persons involved in the painting work should be provided with personal protective equipment according to GOST 12.1.007 and GOST 12.4.068. All work related to the preparation and application of enamels should be carried out in workshops equipped with local and general supply and exhaust ventilation. The dried coating does not have a toxic effect on the environment and the human body.

Distribution of responsibility
