Polyvinyl acetate homopolymer coarse dispersion PVAD grade DF 51/15 C (plasticized) with packaging
Description
Type:coarse homopolymer polyvinyl acetate dispersion (PVAD) is a product of polymerization of vinyl acetate in an aqueous medium in the presence of an initiator and a protective colloid of polyvinyl alcohol. Depending on the composition and purpose , the following dispersion grades are produced:
- non-plasticized - D 50N, D 51C, D 51B;
- plasticized - DF 50/5N; DF 51/10S; DF 51/10SL; DF 51/15S; DF 51/15V; DF 51/15VP; DF 47/50V.
In the designation of the brands, the first two digits indicate the minimum dry residue content before the plasticization of the dispersion, and the subsequent ones indicate the content of the plasticizer in terms of dry residue as a percentage.
Alphabetic indexes to digits denote:
D - dispersion; F - dibutyl phthalate or diisobutyl phthalate.
Letter indexes after the numbers indicate:
H – low–viscosity; C – medium–viscosity; B - high-viscosity; L - paint and varnish; P – printing.
Scope of application:
PVAD is used as an adhesive in the production of bookbinding and pamphlet work, in the manufacture of various leather goods, for gluing facing metal and facade tiles, as an appreting additive for finishing fabrics, in the manufacture of starching agents in household chemicals, as a binder for polymer cement, polymer concrete and seamless floor coverings, as adhesives for paper, cardboard, wood, plywood, cotton fabrics, in the production of containers and packaging made of paper and cardboard, as a binder in water-dispersion paints.
The main recommended areas of application are brand dispersions
Application:carefully remove before use during layering. If a film forms on the surface during storage, it should be removed before use. The bonding surfaces must be dry and clean. Apply the PVA dispersion in a thin layer on one of the surfaces to be glued, connect with the other by combining the edges to press.
Instructions for plasticizing dispersion:the plasticization of the dispersion is carried out in a capacitive apparatus made of stainless steel, aluminum or enameled, equipped with a stirring device (a frame or anchor type agitator with a circumferential mixing speed of 3-5 m / s) at a temperature of 20-30 ° C. It is allowed to carry out plasticization at a temperature of 50 ° C. An unpasticized dispersion is loaded into the apparatus, then, with the agitator running, a plasticizer is fed in portions or continuously for 1-2 hours. After the end of loading the entire amount, mixing is continued for 3 to 4 hours.
Transportation and storage:according to GOST 9980.4 and GOST 9980.5. Plasticized dispersion is transported at a temperature not lower than plus 5 ° C, non–plasticized - not lower than minus 40 ° C. In winter, the plasticized dispersion is transported in tanks with a thermal insulation coating according to GOST 10674. The duration of transportation of the non-plasticized dispersion at a temperature below 0 ° C should not exceed one month.
Plasticized dispersion in winter is supplied separately with a plasticizer. PVAD should be stored in tightly closed containers in warehouses at a temperature of at least plus 5 ° C. The frozen non-plasticized dispersion is thawed in a warm room or heated in a container to a temperature no higher than 80 ° C without the use of an open flame and then thoroughly mixed.
Precautions:rooms designed to work with dispersion must be equipped with local and general exchange ventilation. Work with the dispersion plasticized with dibutyl phthalate or diisobutyl phthalate, in direct contact, is carried out in rubber gloves. PVAD is fire- and explosion-proof.
Warranty period: 12 months from the date of manufacture.
