Butt welding machine for HDPE pipes PROSVAR S 355 PLUS
Description
The PROSVAR S 355 PLUS hydraulic butt welding machine is used to create structures for transporting gas, water and other media. The machine is suitable for working with pipes made of polyethylene, polypropylene, PVDF and other polymeric materials. The unit is characterized by a high level of reliability and performance, thanks to the use of Italian components during assembly, such as a hydroelectric power station oil pump, bypass valve, hydraulic cylinder seals, and a closed-type quick-release connection. The model has proven itself well in the creation of gas pipelines, pipelines, sewers and heating systems on an industrial scale.
Specifications:
- it is possible to work with pipes and fittings with a diameter from 90 to 355 millimeters.;
- The operating temperature ranges from 0 to 300 degrees Celsius;
- heater power - 4000 Watts;
- The end face power is 1200 watts;
- The power of the hydroelectric power plant engine is 750 watts;
- the maximum possible pressure generated in the system during operation is 100 bar;
- The necessary mains power for optimal operation is 220 V, a standard outlet is sufficient.
The kit includes reduction inserts of various diameters, mounting bolts, hydraulic hoses and tools. There is no need to purchase additional equipment for work - the kit has everything you need for soldering plastic pipes and fittings. The kit also includes 2 special boxes, which greatly simplify the storage and transportation of the end face and heater.
Design features of the PROSVAR S 355 PLUS device
The hydraulically driven machine is complemented by a centralizer with four clamps, one of which can be quickly detached to simplify the welding process of pipes with fittings. The centralizer is made of heavy-duty steel alloy, which is not susceptible to corrosion in case of moisture or heat ingress. Reduction ground inserts are used to adjust the diameter for the pipes and fittings that you plan to work with.
The thermostat maintains the operating temperature at the user-set level. The pressure readings can be monitored using an electronic pressure gauge, which displays the most accurate data. When the mains power is turned off, the accumulator maintains the pressure in the system at an optimal level. All controls are located directly on the hydroelectric station, which allows only one person to control the device. To ensure the safety of the operator who carries out the welding process, the end face with a microswitch only works when it is on the centralizer. The heating element is coated with a special coating that prevents plastic from sticking to it.
The hydroelectric power station itself is located in a closed enclosure according to the IP 55 protection standard. This prevents dust and splashes from entering the welding process of pipes and fittings, thereby ensuring the safety of internal components and reducing the risk of breakage. To record welding data and save it in a unified protocol form according to certain standards, a logging device can be connected to the machine using a special connector.
The centralizer is complemented by wheels, which make the model mobile and make it easy to move, despite the rather heavy weight of the structure. There is a removable cover on the side of the housing housing the hydroelectric power station, which makes the oil change process quick and easy.

This parameter characterizes the energy consumption of the equipment and determines its performance when welding pipes of various diameters
- Low–power models (0.6-2 kW) are hand-held devices for socket welding of domestic water supply systems
- High power (up to 61.5 kW) is typical for large butt machines working with large diameter main pipes
- The higher the value, the faster the heating element reaches the operating temperature after switching on
- The power reserve ensures stable heating when working outdoors, compensating for heat loss from wind and cold
- Defines the requirements for the power supply (a regular 220 V outlet or an industrial 380 V network)

This parameter determines the heating range of the working element (soldering iron) required to melt the connected surfaces of pipes and fittings.
- The range from 0 to 300 °C allows the device to be used for welding various types of thermoplastics (polypropylene, polyethylene, PVDF)
- For the most common polypropylene pipes, the optimum temperature is about 260 °C
- The presence of a thermostat allows you to accurately set the desired value and avoid overheating of the material
- Too low a temperature will lead to "cold soldering" and joint leaks
- Exceeding the temperature (closer to 300 °C) causes plastic degradation and can block the inner section of the pipe

- High power (up to 50 kW) is necessary for industrial butt welding machines welding thick-walled main pipes
- The higher the power, the faster the element heats up to operating temperature and melts the plastic
- A powerful heater more effectively compensates for heat loss when working outdoors in windy or cold weather
- Defines the requirements for the power grid: powerful equipment requires connection to a three-phase 380 V network

This parameter indicates the power of the electric motor of the end device, which mechanically processes the ends of the pipes before the heating process.
- The end face cuts off a thin layer of plastic, making the ends of the pipes perfectly smooth and parallel to each other
- The power of 0.7–1.0 kW is sufficient for working with pipes of medium diameters and standard wall thickness
- High power (up to 7.5 kW) is necessary to remove chips from thick-walled pipes of large diameters without reducing the speed
- Power reserve prevents knives from jamming when processing hard grades of polyethylene
- High-quality facing removes the oxidized layer and guarantees maximum contact area during welding
