Groove cutters for external grooves

Groove cutters are designed for threading external grooves on parts of the type of bodies of rotation; at the end of the threaded section for the exit of the threading tool, for the exit of the grinding wheel, for the installation of stoppers, for the placement of rings, etc.

Groove cutters for external grooves resemble straight cutting cutters in their design. There are indeed similarities, but there are also differences. The cutting cutter differs from the groove cutter by the length of the departure and the width of the cutting part. For example, a cutting cutter with a holder size of 25x16 has a working part span of 35 mm, and the standard width of the cutting plate is 5 mm, and a groove cutter for external grooves with the same holder size has a span of 25 mm, and the plate width can be 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 mm.

The groove cutter has a shorter reach, which makes it more durable compared to a conventional cutting cutter, and the variety of cutting edge widths allows you to choose a cutter for grooving the right size in one pass.
