What is the Basis Zero Point?
The Basis Zero Point (BZP) is a zero-based system that is a high-speed connection between a machine tool with a clamping device or workpiece. The system produces precise basing and reliable fastening of the tooling.
How does it work?
Compressed air with a pressure of 6 bar compresses the springs in the housing of each BZP module and opens the system for installation of the object. A device or workpiece equipped with the required number of mounting fingers is positioned in the BZP system. The clamping is performed automatically after the pressure supply is stopped using metal springs inside the housing. Compressed air supply is not required to maintain the closed state.
BZP provides basing with a repeatability of < 0.005 mm.
What are the advantages?
- Reduction of auxiliary time to 90%
- Standardization and unification of enterprise equipment
- Increasing the flexibility of the equipment
- High rigidity of the AIDS system
- Reduction of marriage
- Increased cutting modes and tool life
- Increasing the number of equipment per employee
How do I choose a BZP model?
The choice of the BZP model is influenced by a combination of factors:
- Machine size
- Machine power
- Processing modes
- Serial production
- Height of the 4th axis above the machine table
- Dimensions and materials of the processed parts
- Other technical and operational conditions
