High-profile Hilti projects
Hilti is a participant of our online exhibition, and we hope that you have already managed to get acquainted with many interesting news from them. And today we want to tell you about big projects in the Russian Federation, where their tools, equipment and unique solutions were used. And believe me, they have something to be proud of!
Hilti's "portfolio" in Russia deserves respect. Their solutions are used everywhere - in housing construction in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the regions, allowing to implement interesting architectural solutions and reduce material consumption, thanks to the use of the Hilti VFH Heavy facade system, a new type of concealed fastening of large-format HPL panels, special specifications and drawings of nodes, fasteners of engineering communications, as well as ensuring fire safety in high-rise residential complexes.
In commercial construction, there is the Evolution Tower (the one resembling a DNA molecule) in Moscow City, where Hilti solutions provide fire protection for penetrations of all engineering communications at the level of 4 hours according to the fire resistance limit. VTB ARENA PARK Business Center, where Hilti complex solutions for angular zones less than 90 degrees with a stone weight at an angle of more than 250 kg were implemented for the first time during construction. Complex solutions of cornice zones allow pre-assembly of elements in factory conditions, so that the installation speed increases by 30%. Aviapark shopping center in Moscow, one of the largest shopping centers in Europe, where Hilti solutions also provide fire safety.
In solutions for the construction of huge warehouse complexes (with an area of almost 400,000 sq.m.) in the Moscow region - at all facilities, the fastening of the roof profiled sheet to steel beams is implemented using direct mounting technology and a powder mounting gun DX 76. The technology allows you to repeatedly reduce the time of work, perform high-quality installation of roof structures in accordance with the highest safety requirements.
In industrial construction - a wide range of Hilti solutions has been implemented at the Volkswagen Group Rus plant (Kaluga):
- insertion of fittings and threaded studs based on the unique Hilti Rebar technology
- targeting metal and concrete with gas and powder mounting pistols
- anchor fasteners for all types of general construction works, installation of engineering communications and fastening of technological lines
- installation of engineering and technological communications to concrete and metal structures.
In the energy sector, Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat LLC (Bashkortostan) is one of Russia's largest oil refining and petrochemical production complexes. At the one-of-a-kind facility, the fastening of cable brackets to the metal structures of cable overpasses has been implemented. The powder mounting method allows installation work to be carried out at height without heavy welding equipment and at high speed, and also does not violate the paintwork of structures.
Raised floors were also installed at the facility using the Hilti support structure, which sets a fundamentally new level of quality in the installation of operator rooms. This solution reduces design costs, provides greater flexibility to adapt to any floor configuration, and significantly speeds up installation.
The I.V.Kurchatov Beloyarsk NPP is the firstborn of the large nuclear power industry of the USSR and the only nuclear power plant in Russia with power units of various types. The BN-600 fast neutron reactor power unit has been successfully operated for more than 35 years. For the first time in the country, certified fire-fighting units have been used at the NPP that meet the requirements for decontamination and radiation resistance. Hilti has carried out special tests that meet the requirements of designers and ensure fire protection of pipes and ventilation ducts in the "dirty" area.
Transport construction - Hilti solutions for installation, cladding, fixing of drainage systems and fire safety were used in the construction of the Moscow Metro's Great Ring Line, transport interchange hubs, railway bridges, and reconstruction of metro stations. The company's solutions were also used in the construction of the Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed highway. For 669 km, chemical HVU anchors are used to attach noise shields. With their help, the fastening of barrier fences on bridges is also carried out.
During the construction of sports facilities - Sochi sports facilities, where the entire range of Hilti mounting systems was involved: MM - for light pipelines; MQ - for medium and high loads, as well as fixing air ducts under the dome of the arena; MI - for fixing pipes of the cooling system with a diameter of 530 mm.
During the reconstruction of architectural monuments: Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. The history of the theater has been conducted since 1776, when its construction began on the right bank of the Neglinka River. The significant age of the building required a large-scale reconstruction with the use of advanced technologies that would preserve the historical appearance of the theater.
Restoration and reconstruction of the main building of the Bolshoi Theater is a world-class project implemented in 2005-2012. Hilti solutions were used to create new technological equipment for the stage. With the help of Hilti anchor fasteners, 600 hydraulic and electric drives, as well as upper and lower mechanization are installed. Hilti provided comprehensive engineering support for the reconstruction project, as well as supplied mounting systems and anchors for the main life support systems of the building: water supply, heating, sewerage, ventilation.
The Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.
One of the symbols of Moscow and Russia, the Temple was erected in memory of the Napoleonic invasion of 1812 by architect K. A. Ton. Founded in 1839 and consecrated 44 years later, the church was completely destroyed on December 5, 1931. According to the plan of K. A. Ton, the temple was supposed to combine the traditions of classical cathedral buildings and the features of Vladimir-Suzdal architecture. By 1999, the temple was rebuilt as a conditional external copy of its historical predecessor. During the restoration of the Temple, construction technologies helped to link the past and the future: with the help of chemical anchors and Hilti diamond drilling solutions, the walls were tied to the foundation.
Opera and Ballet Theater (Novosibirsk). The main feature of Russia's largest theater building is a dome with a diameter of 60 m and a height of 35 m. It is a unique structure without buttresses, trusses or columns, supporting itself. The average thickness of the dome is 8 cm, and the ratio of its thickness to the radius is less than that of a chicken egg.
During the 2005 renovation, Hilti CP 620 fire foam was used to provide fire protection for the dome, which is partially made of wooden structures. In the course of the project, which was unique in terms of the complexity of performing hidden works, fire-fighting material was finished over the entire area of the dome between new reinforced concrete and existing wooden structures to protect the latter from fire.
jpg" height="117" title="The largest man-made disaster at the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP" align="right" class="library_img_margin">On August 17, 2009, the largest man-made disaster in the history of hydropower occurred - the accident at the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP: the sudden destruction of the hydraulic unit No. 2, followed by flooding and partial collapse of the engine room and the failure of other power units led to the death of people and the shutdown of the power plant. Search and rescue and repair and restoration work began almost immediately after the accident.
Hilti employees arrived at the scene with a DS-TS 32 hydraulic wall-cutting machine, a DD 350 diamond drilling rig and other equipment.
It would have been impossible to raise the destroyed hydraulic unit No. 2 weighing more than 1,000 tons to the surface without two overhead cranes with a lifting capacity of 500 tons each, which were damaged during the accident. To cast a new reinforced concrete column of crane tracks, it was necessary to dismantle the remains of the destroyed one. For this purpose, a diamond disc with a diameter of 1200 mm was used. However, in the course of the work, it became obvious that heavier equipment was needed to dismantle the rubble. A few days later, the WS 15 rope wall-cutting system and the WSS 30 hydraulic rope system were brought to the station. Only such a technique was able to cut into pieces the huge concrete fragments of floors and walls located in the engine room. Hilti equipment was also used to carry out monolithic concrete works to complete the construction of the coastal spillway.
