Accessories for Kornor magnetic drilling machines
Magnetic drilling machines, depending on their technical characteristics and functionality, can perform a certain number of functions, namely, drilling with crown and spiral drills, countersinking, as well as threading. For this reason, magnetic-soled drilling machines are an integral part in the installation of high-rise metal structures, bridge construction, dismantling of metal structures, car building, drilling holes in pipes, rails and much more.
Let's look at the tooling for magnetic drilling machines in more detail.
Drilling holes
Magnetic machines, depending on the model, are equipped with a Weldon 19, KM2, KM3 or KM4 landing socket.
The Weldon19 non-removable holder is usually used on small machines. As an example, we can consider the model KORNOR MDK-38E, the maximum allowable diameter on this machine is 38 mm. Due to their small weight, such machines on a magnetic base are often used when working at height (bridge construction, installation of metal structures). If it becomes necessary to use spiral drills during operation, then this model must be equipped with a Weldon 19/B16 adapter and a cam chuck. With this kit, it is possible to drill with spiral drills from 1.5 to 13mm.
When using magnetic machines equipped with a Morse Cone holder 2/3/4, the range of work is significantly expanded. Such machines are capable of drilling with core drills up to 200 mm. Drilling with spiral drills is also simplified, in this case, a drill with a conical shank can be immediately inserted into the mounting socket without using additional equipment.
When using core drills (ring cutters) on machines equipped with a Morse Cone, adapter holders for Weldon 19 or 32 mm are used. These adapters come with and without the supply of coolant (coolant). Also, such holders are widely used on stationary machines when it is necessary to use core drills.
Countersinking
Countersink (countersink) is used to process the edges of ready-made holes. In the manufacture of chamfers, for deepening the connecting elements, as well as for preparing holes for the threading operation. Kornor countersinks are made of high-speed steel M2 (R6M5), have 3 cutting edges. The Weldon 19 shank allows the use of a countersink on magnetic machines without any additional equipment.
Threading
Magnetic-based machines can be used for threading. Such machines must be equipped with a reverse function that allows you to change the direction of rotation of the engine. And there should also be an option to change the speed, so threading occurs at low speeds. The kit for threading includes:
- A threaded chuck that includes a Morse cone adapter for B18 + a tap chuck.
- Tap holder, holders come in different diameters M12-M24
Adapters
In the process of working on magnetic machines, there are situations when it is necessary to use equipment that does not fit the standard cartridge. To do this, there are adapter adapters that allow you to solve such a problem.
