AG welding electrodes coated with MMA: solutions for complex tasks and critical structures!

Share:

AG, a leading manufacturer of welding materials, presents its portfolio of electrodes for welding stainless, high-alloy and heterogeneous steels. The focus is on two key product groups: the AG E 307 series for high—manganese and difficult-to-weld steels, as well as the AG E 308 and AG E 309 families for corrosion-resistant and heat-resistant applications. Each series is presented in several coating options, which makes it possible to optimally select an electrode for specific technological requirements and operating conditions.

AG E 307 series: Universal tool for complex materials and repairs

The electrodes of the AG E 307-15, -16 and -17 series are designed for special applications. Their key specialization is welding and surfacing of high—manganese steels (up to 13-14% Mn), including Galfield steels, as well as steels with high sulfur and phosphorus content. These materials are known for their difficult weldability.

  • Application: The main area is the repair and restoration of heavily worn parts subject to impact loads and abrasive wear: excavator buckets, railway crosspieces, dies, crushing equipment parts in cement plants.
  • Key advantage: The deposited metal has high ductility (elongation ≥ 35%) and impact strength (≥ 75 J/cm2), which prevents the formation of cracks in the seam area under dynamic loads. At the same time, it remains resistant to seawater and dilute acids.
  • Coating difference: Allows you to choose the optimal mode: basic (-15), rutile (-16) or acid-rutile (-17) coating for AC or DC operation.

AG E 308/308H/309 family: Reliability for stainless and heat-resistant steels

This product group meets the high welding standards of corrosion-resistant and heat-resistant steels.

  • AG E 308L ( -15, -16, -17): Low carbon electrodes for welding chromium-nickel steels of type 304, 304L, 321. They provide high weld resistance to intercrystalline corrosion, excellent ductility even at cryogenic temperatures (up to -196°C) and purity of the deposited metal. Designed for critical structures, pipelines and tanks in the chemical, food and cryogenic industries.

  • AG E 308H ( -15, -16): Electrodes with a high carbon content for welding 308H type steels operating at high temperatures. They provide resistance to creep up to +600°C and oxidation up to +850°C. The key application is equipment for petrochemicals and energy, working under heating.

  • AG E 309L-15: A specialized electrode for welding dissimilar steels, for example, stainless steel with carbon or low-alloy. It is ideal for creating transition layers (cladding, surfacing) and serves as a buffer before applying carbide coatings.

Technological advantages and unification

All the presented electrodes are characterized by excellent technological properties: easy ignition and re-ignition of the arc, minimal splashing, easy separation of slag and the formation of a high-quality, aesthetic seam. The packaging VAC PAC provides long-term protection from moisture, and clear recommendations for re-piercing (usually 1 hour at 300°C) guarantee stable welding quality.

The availability of a full range of standard sizes (from 2.0 to 5.0 mm) with detailed welding current tables allows engineers and technologists to accurately select tools for tasks of any complexity — from thin-walled structures to heavy repair welding.
