Use of coolant in metalworking with Russian Tool
When working with metals, there is a strong heating. As a result of this increase in temperature, the quality of processing deteriorates, the wear of metalworking tools increases and, as a result, the quality of finished products decreases.
Due to the above factors, lubricants or coolant are usually used to combat heating.
Coolant (coolant)
The function of coolant is to form a lubricating film. It separates the treated surface and the tool for reducing the friction force and reducing heating. Depending on the nature of the effect of COOLANT is divided into chemically active, cooling and superficially active.
Main methods of coolant supply
Free-falling jet is the most commonly used method of coolant supply, because it is simple and economical, the coolant simply flows out of the nozzles under the influence of gravity. The pressure jet is used when necessary deliver the liquid to hard-to-reach places. Often used when drilling deep holes.
Pressure jet. This method is used when it is necessary to deliver liquid to hard-to-reach places — for example, when drilling deep holes. Usually a pressure of 0.1-2.5 MPa is set. In some cases, it can reach 10 MPa.
Spraying. This method allows you to save the amount of liquid used, but the disadvantage is that the working room needs to be ventilated frequently because of the oil suspension. It is used to work with aggregate machines, automatic lines, CNC.
Feeding via built-in channels in the tool body. The application is carried out with the help of cartridges and oil receivers. It is used when working with deep holes. It is not suitable for all tools.
Application of coolant during milling
Cutters with internal coolant supply channels are often used in the processing of metal workpieces. Consider the example of serial end-cylindrical milling cutters AH290
"Russian Instrument". AH 290 cutters are used for processing grooves and ledges and are produced with various types the shank.
AH290...W with Weldon cylindrical shank with the possibility of coolant supply through the spindle machine tools and tool housing |
|
AH290...SK with shank cone 7/24 GOST 25827-2014 type A; DIN 69871 with the possibility of feeding Coolant through the machine spindle and tool body |
|
AH290...A nozzle with a transverse keyway with the possibility of coolant supply through the spindle machine tools and tool housing |
|
AH290...BT with shank cone 7/24 GOST 25827-2014 type J; MAS BT 403; JIS B 6339 with the possibility of coolant supply through the machine spindle and tool body |

The presence of internal channels for the supply of coolant allows a more rational use of the lubricating and cooling liquid into the cutting area. The lubricating and cooling effect increases, with its help it is possible to optimize the speed and direct it to the desired area. End-cylindrical milling cutter with mechanical fastening of carbide plates APKT 11T304 Beltools, equipped with coolant supply with the possibility of feeding through the machine spindle and tool housing. Using the APKT Beltools plate with optimized geometry allows you to achieve a reduction in cutting forces and high productivity. The AH290 cutters are mass-produced, the diameter range is 25-50 mm.
Drilling fluid
The supply of coolant to the drilling area improves the quality of the hole and the durability of the tool, and also allows the removal of chips.
The engineering center “Russian Tool” has developed a special modular ADMS100 mandrel for feather drills with supply of coolant. The high quality of the holes being processed and the high durability of the feather drill are ensured by internal coolant supply systems. The introduction of this type of product allows you to optimize technological processes and reduce costs.
