This is possible thanks to Silvent technology, which reduces turbulence and creates a more uniform, smooth and straight air jet when blowing with compressed air, which is sometimes referred to as a laminar air jet.

1. Reduced noise level

Blowing with compressed air can generate high sound levels, which can harm operators. To combat this, Silvent’s safety air guns, air nozzles and air knives are designed to reduce sound levels when blowing with compressed air. The products reduce turbulence, which enables a reduction in noise levels. The specially designed air nozzles also help reduce sound levels, as some of the sound is raised to frequencies that are beyond what the human ear can perceive or be harmed by.

2. Reduced risk of occupational injuries

When blowing with compressed air, it’s important to be aware of the risks. Young people are overrepresented in accident statistics, which is often due to a lack of training in the use of compressed air. Silvent’s air nozzles have a special design that prevent the nozzle orifice from being blocked by the operator by mistake. Totally blocking the orifice could cause the operator serious injury. If the pressure is too high, which can be the case in total blocking, the compressed air can penetrate the operator’s skin. This can lead to serious injury such as air embolisms and cerebral hemorrhage. Silvent technology minimizes the risk of this type of injury and meets government safety requirements.

3. Reduced energy consumption

Few people are aware of just how much compressed air actually costs. To reduce energy consumption, it’s important to reduce the turbulence that occurs when blowing with compressed air. Because less energy is wasted producing turbulence, a greater amount of the energy input can be used for blowing with compressed air. This makes for more efficient blowing. Silvent technology also increases air entrainment, which means the compressed air draws the surrounding air with it. In this way, the same output is achieved for less energy.
