Seco's corporate ethics rules are based on the financial, environmental and social responsibility of the organization. They define the responsibilities of Seco as a responsible employer, company, responsible business partner, and are also an integral part of working with suppliers. The rules of corporate ethics apply to all employees working in all our branches. These rules have been translated into the languages of all countries in which Seco has operating subsidiaries and conducts its activities.
The company's financial responsibility is based on Seco's desire to create additional benefits for its customers, employees and other stakeholders whose activities have a direct impact on the company's work, as well as those for whom cooperation with Seco is very important. To a large extent, the Group uses systems for the processing and disposal of materials and carries out work to prevent and minimize environmental pollution.
Environmental audit is an integral part of all operations and is regulated by a number of environmental tasks that are updated annually, and their implementation is monitored during internal and external audits. 

Our values

Customer focus, an atmosphere of trust, and involvement in work are the three values that together make up Seco's corporate culture. These three terms contain a set of Seco values, which we call "Our common Values". They not only reflect the company's business picture, but also unite Seco employees belonging to different geographical and cultural regions of the world.

Over time, Seco turned from a small company operating in the town of Fagersta into a group of companies on a global scale with operations conducted on all continents of the world. That is why we believe that it is very important for a Group to have a permanent and unified image, regardless of where its activities are carried out in the world.

The work on this was started in 2007 with the aim of identifying a number of values that could describe the work of Seco. The company, therefore, decided to appeal to its employees for their opinion. After one year of interviews, surveys, seminars and team sessions, three components – enthusiasm for customers, family spirit and personal commitment of each of the employees-were called "Our common values".

In the set of our common values, "Customer orientation" means understanding that fulfilling obligations to customers builds trusting and long-term relationships. The proximity of customers and the high level of service are and have always been two key factors around which Seco's competitiveness has been built. Without customer orientation in working with customers, Seco would not be the company it is today.

Seco's business mission is to develop, manufacture and globally sell metalworking products that meet the requirements of our customers in terms of quality, service and cost. Our product range includes solutions for milling, turning, hole processing, tooling.

Our history of innovation

The history of Seco begins with a small company Fagersta Bruks, leading its history since the beginning of the 17th century. The company produced steel wire, steel pipes, rifle barrels and springs for railway cars, and since 1932 launched the production of hard alloy products. Gradually, the company produced more and more new cutting tools. One of the alloys was named Seco, which means “I cut " in Latin, this name later gave the name to a separate division in the transformed group of companies.

In the 50s and 60s, the Fagersta Group made large investments in the field of hard alloy production. The Group acquired several manufacturing companies, becoming one of the three largest European manufacturers of tungsten carbide. Several new products were mastered, including replaceable mechanical plates that later became the main profile of the company. 

In those years, the revolutionary S25M alloy and the first replaceable coated plates were released. In the 80s and 90s, Seco expanded rapidly and opened several branches outside of Sweden. Today, the Seco Group unites more than 50 subsidiary trade organizations and has its representative offices in more than 75 countries around the world.

Our production sites are certified in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard. The high quality standards applied at all our production sites allow us to remain one of the leaders of the world market of metal-cutting tools.
