Orsha Tool Factory

Orsha Tool Plant was commissioned in 1974 on the state assignment of the Government of the USSR as a specialized enterprise for providing metalworking tools and machine tools to enterprises throughout the Soviet Union. Currently, the plant is one of the developed manufacturers in the Republic of Belarus of auxiliary, clamping and metal-cutting tools for metalworking machines. Over 400 specialists and workers work on an area of about 55,000 square meters of territory occupied by industrial buildings and office premises. The nomenclature range of the tools produced by the plant includes more than 3 thousand names and standard sizes. Hundreds of industrial enterprises in the machine tool and machine building industries, automobile and railway transport, energy and agro-industrial complex in Belarus, the Russian Federation and other countries are regular consumers of the plant's products. The sale is carried out under direct supply contracts and through a shipping network abroad, which covers industrialized regions in the European part of the Russian Federation, Ukraine and other CIS countries. JSC "OIZ" is a permanent participant of specialized international exhibitions. The plant has been repeatedly awarded for its high image, consumer recognition and product quality. Based on research conducted by an independent group of experts in Spain, the plant was awarded the honorary prize "Golden Arch of Europe" in 1992. Production and technical potential. The plant's machine park includes over a thousand units of CNC metalworking machines and machining centers of turning, milling, drilling, boring and grinding groups. The production is equipped with thermal equipment for quenching tools made of high-speed and structural steels, equipment for the cementation process, electroplating equipment. Based on the technological capabilities of production, the experience and qualifications of technical personnel, the plant is able to meet the diverse needs of consumers in tools and metalworking services. Part of the production facilities is engaged in the manufacture of products according to special customer drawings and parts in cooperation with large enterprises of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, widely known on the international market. All products of the plant with high degrees of precision are compatible with modern technological equipment and provide solutions to complex production tasks in metalworking.

The plant has implemented a quality management system for the production of cutting and auxiliary tools and is certified for compliance with the requirements of STB ISO 9001-2015. JSC "OIZ" in December 2018 recertified the quality management system for the production of cutting and auxiliary tools for compliance with the requirements of STB ISO 9001-2015 and received a Certificate of Conformity registered in the Register of the National Conformity Assessment System of the Republic of Belarus No. BY/112 05.01.005 07992. The certificate is valid until 12/27/2021.

The development and production of products is carried out in accordance with the existing technical regulatory legal acts. All products are patent-free. Currently, the plant produces 22 items with certificates of conformity of the Republic of Belarus. The certification body for industrial products has issued certificates for the following types of products: adapter bushings, milling mandrels, universal boring mandrels, boring chuck, threaded chuck and safety head, collet chuck, drilling chuck, thrust centers, rotating machine centers, semi-thrust centers, spiral drills with conical shank GOST 10903-77, spiral drills with conical with a shank GOST 2092-77, spiral drills with a cylindrical shank GOST10902-77, spiral drills with a conical shank. Long series GOST 12121-77, spiral drills with a cylindrical shank long series GOST 886-77, spiral drills with a cylindrical shank short series GOST 4010-77, machine and manual taps GOST 3266-81, wrench taps GOST 1604-71, wrench taps with a curved shank GOST 6951-71, prefabricated turning cutters with mechanical fastening of polyhedral carbide plates. Ensuring the quality and safety of manufactured products is one of the most important priorities of the activities of JSC "OIZ".

Quality control is carried out at all stages of production in accordance with technical regulations for products and is part of the overall quality management system, which covers all aspects of the plant's activities. In the production process, high product quality is based on: - strict input control of raw materials and materials; - a high level of automation that ensures the stability of the technology due to processing on automatic machines and machines with numerical control; - operational control of products in the production process, quality assessment based on the results of acceptance, periodic and certification tests, as well as tests on the customer's equipment. In order to achieve a high level of quality and competitiveness of products, to meet the requirements of consumers on time and with minimal costs, the company has developed a Quality Program that defines the main goals and objectives of the enterprise in the field of improving the quality of products.

Enterprise development strategy

Modern mechanical engineering, at the stage of the rise of industrial production and in conditions of fierce competition, sets manufacturers the task of improving the quality and reducing the cost of their products. To solve these problems, industrial enterprises must be equipped with the most modern technologies, equipment and new competitive high-performance tools. Such a tool is produced by JSC "OIZ". In this regard, the company's development strategy includes the following main directions:

• increasing the output of competitive products due to modernization and technical re-equipment of production, increasing its mobility towards the production of new goods, high-tech tools;

• additional loading of production capacities by mastering the production of parts and assemblies for enterprises of the Republic of Belarus within the framework of cooperation; - maintaining positions in existing markets, expanding sales markets by strengthening marketing policy and expanding the dealer network;

•  improvement of the product quality system based on ISO 9001;

• implementation of measures to reduce the cost of commercial products.

The main thing that production is focused on today is the further expansion and improvement of the range of high-precision, high-quality, reliable, multifunctional, world-class auxiliary tools for milling, boring and turning groups of machines, as well as for machines of the machining center type. The company plans to continue increasing production volumes. It is planned to increase the production of cutting, auxiliary and measuring tools, as well as to master the production of new products. To achieve its strategic goals, the company is constantly working to improve both the financial and technical components of its activities. As part of the technical development of the enterprise, modernization and technical re-equipment of production are being carried out.

As a result of the implementation of this project, the company will be able to establish production:

• modern cutting tools made of high-speed steels and hard alloys, including prefabricated;

• modern high-precision auxiliary tools for lathes;

• hardening of the cutting tool and protective and decorative coating.

The new tool designs scheduled for release correspond to the technical level of leading tool companies and are competitive in the markets of the Republic of Belarus, CIS countries and other countries.
