The city of Grossalmerode is known for its natural clay deposits all over the world, and hundreds of years ago it was from here that clay crucibles were supplied to German, European and foreign foundries. At that time, Grossalmerode and its industry enjoyed the favor of various landgraves, one of whom in 1775 awarded Grossalmerode the status of a city.
The history of refractory ceramics is as old as the art of casting. Grossalmerode has been the birthplace of crucible production since the 16th century, and the ancestors of the Gundlach family played an important role in it. In modern history, however, there have been some decisive changes in the technology of making crucibles in Aug. Gundlach KG.
Currently at the enterprise Aug. Gundlach KG employs about 100 people. More than 75% of the products are exported to foundries around the world.
Together with its own sales agencies and representative offices, Gundlach has established strong international relations.
For Gundlach-Group, international cooperation means using the strengths of each of the independent companies. Thanks to the exchange of experience, joint training of employees, joint purchases and sales, as well as a reasonable combination of the assortment, the group is able to offer a wide range of products. All these advantages ensure constant quality and progressive technological development, which leads not only to the improvement of existing products, but also to the invention of new ones.
