Electric cable

JSC EKZ is one of the largest Russian manufacturers of cables and cable and wire products (KPP) and metal mesh. The company is located in the city of Kolchugino, Vladimir region. The Electrokabel plant traces its history back to 1871, from the moment of the organization of wire production as part of the copper processing plant. However, the official date of birth of EKZ is considered to be 1939, when an independent production was established on the basis of the Kolchugtsvetmet plant, consisting of cable, rolling wire, metal-weaving workshops and iron foundries.

Today, Electric Cable Kolchuginsky Zavod is a universal enterprise that produces more than 100,000 brand sizes of cable products, from traditional to unique developments by factory specialists.

The main product groups are low, medium and high voltage power cables, control cables, wires and cables for rolling stock, alarms and interlocks, wires and cables for installation. Electrokabel also produces woven wire meshes made of non-ferrous metals, alloys and stainless steel, as well as diamond tools. A special place in the assortment list is occupied by cables of increased fire safety, including for the shipbuilding industry.

The latest technologies and modern high-tech equipment from leading European countries are used for the production of checkpoints.

The total area of the Kolchuginsky plant "Electrokabel" is more than 100 hectares, today the company has 7 workshops of the main production. The number of staff is about 2000 people. In the period from 2017 to 2018, a new section of electron beam modification of cable insulation was opened, the die production was modernized, the latest technologies were introduced, and the production of more than 1,000 new cable brands was mastered, including under the import substitution program.

The products of the Kolchuginsky plant are in demand in various sectors of the economy: energy, telecommunications, mining, metallurgy, chemical industry, oil and gas, etc. Among the consumers of EKZ products are Russian corporations and large monopolies: Rosseti, the Moscow and St. Petersburg subways, MTS, MGTS, Rostelecom, USC, OEK, Russian Railways, Gazprom and others.

The plant is a member of the Electrokabel Association and a participant in the Cable without Danger project.
