In 1889, Max Bessey founded the BESSEY & Sohn steel mill in Stuttgart. Since then, the company has constantly expanded the range of products offered. In the mid-30s, Bessie started making hand tools for mounting. Since then, numerous patents have highlighted the power of the company's innovation. In 1979, BESSEY acquired the traditional Diener Werkzeugfabrik GmbH tool factory and its well-known Erdi brand of sheet metal shears, thus starting its activities in the field of cutting technology.
From BESSEY & Son in 2004 came BESSEY Tool, in the field of clamping and cutting technologies, as well as BESSEY Präzisionsstahl, a leading German manufacturer and commercially independent supplier of high-quality alloy and stainless steel. This unique position as a manufacturer of tools and precision steel provides BESSEY with crucial quality. In this way, BESSEY Tool can obtain the material for rails and spindles directly from BESSEY Präzisionsstahl GmbH and know exactly what quality the various components have. BESSEY Präzisionsstahl produces and tests alloy steels with consistently high quality and the highest precision on the most modern equipment.
