Ilyich Abrasive Plant
The plant was founded in St. Petersburg in 1878 as "The first Russian factory of emery products". Since then, the company has been a pioneer in the development of a new abrasive tool in Russia.
The distinctive quality of our company is the joint work with consumers to optimize the grinding process, the desire to respond to the most difficult request for the manufacture of new tool positions, both to replace imports and to solve problems of grinding new materials and complex shapes.

OUR HISTORY
The Ilyich Abrasive Plant was founded in St. Petersburg in 1878 by engineer Nicholas Struk, as the first emery factory in the Russian Empire.
In the period from 1878 to 1931, the plant worked on natural abrasive materials – emery, flint, corundum.
- 1931 - production of tools made of artificial materials – electrocorundum, silicon carbide and others.
- 1962 - the development of the production of synthetic diamonds.
- 1963 – development of technology for the synthesis of a new material – cubic boron nitride.
- 1963 – production of diamond circles on organic bundles.
- 1965 – production of tools from cubic boron nitride.
- 1985 - production of highly porous abrasive wheels.
- 1999 - production of diamond circles on a ceramic bundle.
- 2001 - development and production of circles using AEROBOR® technology.
- 2007 – production of high-speed laps (up to 125 m/s) from elbor on a ceramic bundle.
