Types of wrenches: description and application

Wrench — tool for connecting (disconnecting) a threaded connection by twisting (untwisting) bolts, nuts and other parts. The keys are divided into two groups: covering and covered. The size of the pharynx (hole) is standardized and measured in millimeters (metric) or fractions of an inch (inch). The phrase "key on 14" means that the size of the throat is equal to 14 millimeters.

Double–sided open-mouth wrenches (CGD), or simply horn wrenches - a wrench, the association with which first comes to mind when mentioning this product.  This tool is traditionally widely represented on the market, is in demand by consumers and is present in the arsenal of any economic department, operational and repair departments of industrial enterprises, housing and communal services organizations.
The main purpose of wrenches with an open mouth double–sided - connection or disconnection of threaded connections by tightening or untwisting nuts or bolts. The key has an all-metal construction, the working element captures two parallel faces of a nut or bolt.

Thus, cap wrenches are indispensable when working with tight fasteners, they allow, due to their shape, to make greater efforts than when working with horn wrenches that have only two sides of contact with a nut or bolt, which causes the popularity and demand for ring wrenches on the market.

Lever pipe wrenches (KTR), or gas wrenches (as a variety with a 45° angle of sponges) are a tool well known to any plumber, gas service specialist, and other technical specialists. It consists of a movable and a fixed lever, combined into a single unit with the help of the drive part. The principle of operation of such a lever wrench is to jam the pipe between the sponges, which allows you to hold and work with round objects.
