Characteristics of the main raw material
Electrocorundum normal (13A, 14A): high-strength material with a wide range of applications. It contains from 94.5 to 96.7% aluminum oxide (Al2O3). It is produced by melting bauxite.
Electrocorundum white (25A): material with a high content of Al2O3 - 99.4-99.7% with a slight presence of other oxides. It is used mainly for circles on a ceramic bundle.
Chromium titanium electrocorundum (95A): produced by melting alumina with the addition of alloying components, titanium and chromium oxides. Alloying with two different components makes it possible to improve the abrasive properties of the material. It is used for the manufacture of tools on bakelite and ceramic bundles.
Silicon carbide black (53C, 54C): contains SiC - 96-99%. It is produced by reducing silicon in resistance furnaces.
Silicon carbide green (63C, 64C): similar to black silicon carbide, but with higher purity (SiC more than 99%). They are used to a greater extent for the production of circles of medium and small grains.
Ceramic binder (V): has high moisture and chemical resistance, rigidity and tensile strength. It is widely distributed and used for the manufacture of all standard sizes of circles. The tool on a ceramic bundle is used for all types of grinding except roughing, cutting and slotting narrow grooves, flat grinding with segment circles, grinding of ball bearing grooves. It keeps the profile well, has a high. porosity, removes heat well.
Bakelite bundle (B): produced on the basis of phenol-formaldehyde resins. It has high specific strength and elasticity. It is widely used for thin circles and circles working with variable load. The tool on a bakelite bundle is used for rough stripping, for flat grinding with the end of a circle, cutting and cutting grooves, sharpening, when processing thin products where cauterization is dangerous. In addition, the bakelite bundle has a polishing effect. The limitation of the bakelite bundle is its low resistance to alkaline coolant.
