Choosing the right hacksaw BAHCO

How to choose a hacksaw

Blank. The choice of a hacksaw depends on the size, density and texture of the material intended for sawing.

Sawing quality. When accurately sawing a material, for example for the manufacture of furniture, an accurate tool with a small tooth should be used.But when working with large blanks, a large tooth will give an excellent result.

Canvas length. Canvases with a large tooth are convenient to use when working with large blanks. For a large cut, it is necessary to use a hacksaw with a large tooth and a blade length of 550/650 mm (22”-26”) to achieve long powerful cuts.
Medium-sized saw blades with an average tooth and a blade length of 500/550 mm (18”-22”) for powerful sweeping cuts. For precise work with small-sized workpieces, the length of the web does not matter.

The presented table will help you choose the right hacksaw, based on the tasks set. The table also provides information about the features of the handle and blade.

In order to choose the right Bahco hacksaw, several factors must be taken into account.

Our table will help you with this.

  • Step 1. Select the model. Superior™, ProfCut™ or PrizeCut™.
  • Step 2. Select a hacksaw from the first column "Hacksaw type/material".
  • Step 3. Select the hacksaw by application – columns 5 (application) and 6 (length).

Precise sawing:Small-scale saw blades with a small tooth and TPI from 9/10 to 15/16.;

The length of the hacksaw does not matter.

Universal sawing: Hacksaws of medium-sized saw with an average tooth and TPI from 7/8 to 9/10.;

The length of the hacksaw blade should be 18-22 inches (500-550 mm) for powerful sweeping cuts.

Large-scale sawing: Hacksaws of large-sized sawing with a large tooth and TPI 7/8.;

The length of the hacksaw blade should be 22-26 inches (550-650 mm) for long powerful cuts.

Full range of professionalhacksaws

Superior™ Series
A hacksaw with a Superior™ blade will easily cut literally any wood-based material and will remain sharp after years of its work! And all this is due to the unique HT geometry of the hardened tooth, a special low-friction coating, increased stability and precision of the cut due to the thickened web and the ERGOTM handle.

ProfCut™ Series
Designed for professionals, ProfCutTM and ProfCutTM+ hacksaws are equipped with sharp hardened teeth with GT geometry. For easier sawing, it is better to opt for a ProfCutTM+ hacksaw with a low-friction coating. In addition to universal hacksaws, the ProfCutTM series presents special hacksaws for plywood,
laminate, scaffolding, plastic, drywall and cellular concrete.

PrizeCut™ Series
PrizeCutTM is a practical, reliable hacksaw with hardened teeth of universal geometry for sawing all types of wood.
The solid-cast handle of a convenient shape will ensure comfortable use of the tool for many years.
